Eyal Naveh: “Israel’s Political Turmoil and the Twofold Attack on Israeli Historical Narrative”

Eyal Naveh is professor emeritus of history at Tel Aviv University and at the Kibbutzim College of Education. He served as the chairperson of the department of General History at Tel Aviv University, (2012-2016) and is the head of the Academic Council at the Kibbutzim College of Education. He is also the head of the Israeli Institute of History Education.
Professor Naveh received his Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley. In Israel he teaches U.S. history, modern Israeli history, and History education. He has taught as a visiting professor at Harvard, UC Berkeley, Cornell, the University of Toronto, Venice international University, and the University of Vienna.
Beside his academic publications, Naveh has published 7 textbooks for the Israeli public-school system. Among his books on Israeli history are Histories: Toward a Dialogue With the Israeli Past (Babel Publications, 2002) [Hebrew].
