Tamara Morsel-Eisenberg

Dr. Tamara Morsel-Eisenberg studies Jewish cultural and intellectual history in early modern Europe. She specializes in the history of Jewish religious law (halakha), focusing on the technological and cultural transmission of religious legal knowledge and its organization.
Dr. Morsel-Eisenberg received her PhD from the University of Pennsylvania’s History Department in 2018. She has held fellowships at numerous institutions, including the Center for Jewish History, the Leo Baeck Institute, NYU Law, and the Harvard Society of Fellows. Her work has been published in a variety of popular and academic publications, including the Journal of the History of Ideas, AJS Review, Critical Inquiry, and Tablet magazine.
