Sivan Gottlieb

Sivan Gottlieb is a post-doctoral student at Halpern Center for the Study of Jewish Self-Perception, Bar Ilan University, under the guidance of Prof. David Malkiel. Her research focuses on the visual language involved in the production of scientific and medical manuscripts, from medieval Europe. In September 2021, she received her PhD in the Department of Art History at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel. Her dissertation topic was ‘The Art of Medicine: Illuminated Hebrew Medical Manuscripts from the Late Middle Ages’ under the guidance of Prof. Sarit Shalev-Eyni.
