Nomi Schneck is an art historian who specializes in visual narrative and spatial dynamics in the Late Antique and medieval Mediterranean region. She received her Ph.D. at Princeton University in 2024 for her doctoral dissertation, entitled “Storytelling on the Mosaic Floors of Late Antique Sepphoris.” Nomi is currently a Postgraduate Research Associate in the Department of Art & Archaeology at Princeton University. As a Starr Fellow, Nomi will work on her first book project, an analysis of dining and synagogue mosaic floors in the Late Antique Levant as platforms of lived spaces, fostering viewer engagement and learned discussion. Nomi’s research has been supported by fellowships from the Haifa Center for Mediterranean History, the Samuel H. Kress Foundation, and the Seeger Center for Hellenic Studies.
