JEWISHST 152 – Renaissance and Revolution: Judaism, Zionism & Israel

Semester: Spring
Offered: 2022
Instructor: Yehudah Mirsky
Meeting Time: T 9:00am-11:45am

The seminar seeks to introduce students to, and facilitate their exploration of, some crucial issues and debates at play in the histories of the Zionism and the State of Israel, as they relate to Jewish identity, Zionism’s place in Jewish history and Israel’s identity as a democratic, yet highly conflicted, nation-state. The seminar will work to place these issues into broader contextual and comparative frames.
