“From Oslo to October 7: Thirty Years After Rabin’s Assassination, What Became of His Vision?”

Join the Harvard Kennedy School’s Middle East Initiative for a special program marking the 30th Memorial Day of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin. The discussion will explore Rabin’s legacy and his impact on Israel, Palestine, the broader Middle East, and the American Jewish community.

The event will also feature the presentation of Class of 95, a newly published English-language anthology of Israeli poetry reflecting on Rabin’s assassination. Edited by MEI Research Fellow Barak Sella, the volume brings together forty Israeli poets and writers examining themes of grief, peace, and democracy thirty years after the assassination.

Panelists include Senior Fellow Ambassador Edward Djerejian (U.S. Ambassador to Israel, 1993–1994), Professor Nadya Hajj (Faculty Affiliate with the Middle East Initiative and an Associate Professor and Director of Peace and Justice Studies at Wellesley College), and Barak Sella (Research Fellow, Middle East Initiative, Harvard Kennedy School), in conversation with Professor Tarek Masoud, who will moderate. Together, they will discuss how Rabin’s legacy continues to shape Israeli, Palestinian, and American political and cultural life, and its relevance to current events in the region.
