Weinstock Visiting Professor Ruth Mandel (from University College London) will be teaching a new course this semester:
This class explores a range of graphic narrative works—comix–including Art Spiegelman’s MAUS, and many others, that deal with the Holocaust and other themes.
We will look into the effects of depicting trauma, memory, memoir, and history through graphic art, and discover how these can complement conventional texts.
There will be the opportunity for a hands-on workshop with a graphic anthropologist.
